update by BoutZero Team

Coins, membership and daily quests

New Coin packs, membership as it works now, more ways to earn Coins in the game, a fee on Coin sales in the market, and daily quests.

Coin packs: $5 buys 9,000 Coins, $10 buys 19,000, $20 buys 40,000, $50 buys 105,000 and $100 buys 225,000.

Membership: members level up to 255. Without membership, levels stop at 185, but your EXP keeps counting and turns into levels at your first match as a member. If a membership runs out, every level already reached stays. On Saturday and Sunday (Berlin time) members get 2x EXP and Gigas from every match. Coins are not doubled. Every 30 days of membership you buy comes with 8,000 Coins, credited when the order is delivered. Member chat shows in purple in the lobby, rooms and matches, and only members can buy or be sent the two Member flags.

Coins in the game: Sector wins pay Coins that grow with the level of the map, gold bars from Sector loot sell for 100, 300 or 600 Coins, daily quests pay 120 to 400 Coins each, and PvP, Team and BvB wins pay 1 Coin (about one win in ten pays 5). Coins belong to your account, Gigas to your character.

Player market: a sale for Coins keeps a 10% fee, so the seller receives 90% of the price (rounded down), and the lowest Coin price is 2. An account must be at least 7 days old to list or buy for Coins. Sales for Gigas pay the full price and are open to every account. Coin items cannot be traded, whether bought or found as loot. What you buy arrives in your in-game gift box.

Daily quests: press Q in the lobby, or type @quests in chat. You get five quests a day (three Sector, one Challenge, one PvP/BvB), rolled for your level and paying 120 to 400 Coins each by difficulty. Finish any four of the five for the 400-Coin Daily Champion bonus. New quests arrive at midnight, Berlin time.

The release update: parties, difficulty, prices and safer accounts

More item boxes for every player in a close-level party, Easy, Medium and Hard rewards, harder-hitting monsters on the early maps, cheaper mercenaries, a sell ladder for endgame gear and stronger account protection. Plus the Halloween event, until 30 November.

Party rewards: when the levels in a party are within 20 of each other (highest minus lowest, counted at the start), every player gets about 80 percent of the item boxes a solo player would. A player counts once they have made a kill in the match. EXP and Coins work as before, and gold bars drop at the solo rate.

Difficulty: Sector rooms play on Easy, Medium or Hard, set by the room master. Hard pays 25 percent more of the base EXP and Gigas and 1.25 times the item boxes; Easy pays 25 percent less and 0.75 times the boxes. Coins are the same on every difficulty. Coming with the next client update: a tougher Hard boss on every Sector map, and monsters that scale with the difficulty.

Monsters: many monsters hit harder now, most of all on the early maps, so the first maps are a real fight. On Training, Klez and Ganda hit three times as hard as before. Monster Life is unchanged.

Prices and the shop: the six strongest mercenaries now rent for a year at 55,000 Coins (Xabaras, DeathHunter, Choppers, Excalibur) or 49,000 (Barbarian, MiniTank), and every mercenary that rents by the month costs 2.5 times its 7-day price. RevivalPack and HP-Pack have moved to PACKS > FIELDS. The Level 185 Gigas energy field once called Candy is now the BouTZero Field, still 450,000 Gigas; the Coin version of the BouTZero Field has left the shop, and copies already rented keep working until they run out.

Endgame gear: the drop sets of the top maps now sell to the shop on one ladder, from the trio sets through Meteor Jackal, Devil, Matrix and CyberZero to Storm Marine and Funk. A higher set always sells for more than a lower one, and those sell values were lowered: CPU-CRT(+5), for example, now sells for 90,000 Gigas. Storm Marine and Funk parts now beat CyberZero on every stat. Destroy The Data Mines no longer drops Bladess Core +5; the three Hackenn maps still do. The daily quest Clear a hunting map now counts Matrix Core and Funk Factory too.

Accounts: new passwords need 8 to 31 characters, and not the username. At the game login, wrong passwords slow further tries down and then lock that account from that address for a minute. An account must be 7 days old to send a Coin item to another player, as a shop gift or by item post, just as it already had to be to trade for Coins on the market.

Halloween: the Halloween Special is now a Level 150 map, open to every player until 30 November. See the Halloween post for candy and the exchange.

patch by BoutZero Team

The 22 October update: new shop prices, the ZombieSoldier for candy and jump attacks that hit

ZeroSeer and Prism Wings cost more, the CyberParrot head is in the shop and five heads are NEW. The Halloween exchange adds the ZombieSoldier head for 1,000 candy. White-Knight, Solar Phoenix and SuperKhanZ jump attacks now hit, and permanent packs no longer fade or vanish in Sector.

Shop prices: the ZeroSeer mercenary now costs 5,000 Coins for 7 days, 12,500 for 30 days and 55,000 for a year (it was 3,000, 7,500 and 32,000). Prism Wings now cost 5,000, 12,500 and 60,000 Coins (they were 3,500, 8,750 and 49,000).

New in the shop: the CyberParrot head, on the head shelf of every chassis right after the Astro Dome, for 3,500 Coins for 7 days, 8,750 for 30 days and 49,000 for a year. The HOT > NEW page now starts with DiscoDog, Iron Visor, Jester Hood, Astro Dome and CyberParrot, and these five carry the NEW badge on every shelf. ArmaSoldier, GoldThunderHead and LigerHead are no longer marked new.

Halloween: the candy exchange in SHOP > SPECIAL > HALLOWEEN adds the ZombieSoldier head for 1,000 candy, the highest price on the shelf (the Jack King is 750). Like the Jack heads it is permanent, goes in the Head (Coin) slot and fits every chassis. The event runs until 30 November.

Jump attacks: White-Knight, White-Knight (E Drop) and Solar Phoenix now hit from the start of the jump. Before, their jump attack could only hit at the top of the jump, so pressing jump and attack together never hit. The SuperKhanZ attack after a jump while walking now hits too; it never could, not even in the original game. In PvP these jump attacks now also hit other players earlier in the jump.

The TopPlayer flag has its own icon at last (it showed No Icon) and a new look: a gold crown over an obsidian banner, with a gold medallion bearing the number 1.

Fixes: permanent skill packs, mercenaries and trans bots no longer look faded in the match HUD, and no longer disappear from it after you use a RevivalPack or HP-Pack in Sector. Create Room right after leaving a room no longer opens the page of a room that does not exist, with a strange room number and the players of the room you just left.

The new prices, the shop shelves, the jump attacks and the flag come with the client update: start the game with the BoutZero Launcher and it downloads them.

Halloween event: candy, the Skeleton set and the Jack King

Until 30 November the Level 150 Halloween Special is open to every player. Its monsters drop candy: trade it in SHOP > SPECIAL > HALLOWEEN for the Skeleton set, the Jack heads, the new Jack King, the ZombieSoldier head and two Halloween flags.

The map: pick [Level 150]Halloween Special from the Sector list, or let Random Sector pick it for a room whose lowest player is level 150 to 200. No gear drops there, but gold bars still do, and EXP, Gigas and Coins follow the Level 150 scale.

Candy: monsters and barrels drop candy pails. A pail is worth 1 candy from a monster or a barrel and 3 from a boss, and the Skeleton Lord always drops one worth 10, so a solo clear on Medium pays about 19. Candy is paid from level 100, up to 250 a day per character; the count starts again at midnight, Berlin time. In a party whose levels are within 20 of each other, every pail pays every player who has made a kill in the match. Type @candy in chat to see your candy.

The exchange, in the game at SHOP > SPECIAL > HALLOWEEN: the Skeleton set for Patch, Surge and Ram (+0 head, body and arms at Level 155, each with the stats of the matching +5 Plasmodium, Bladium or Illuminum part) for 100 candy a part; the Skeleton Shield and Skeleton Shoulder for 150; the Skeleton Wisp minibot for 200; the Jack Head for 200; Inferno Jack for 400; the new Jack King for 750; the ZombieSoldier head for 1,000, the highest price on the shelf; and two new flags, the Ossuary Banner and the Gravewarden Lantern, for 150 each, sold for Flag 1 and for Flag 2. Everything is permanent.

The event ends by itself on 30 November 2026 at 23:59 (UTC+2), and the shelf closes with it, so spend your candy in time. Every item, with its picture, is on the BoutZero website at boutzero.org/halloween.
